Preparing God’s Habitat
A natural habitat is an ecological or environmental area where a specific species lives or that particular beings call “home.” The King James Version of today’s verse says that God “inhabits” the praises of His people. Consider for a moment the way you praise God and the environment it creates for Him to call home. Many years ago, Robert Boyd Munger wrote a spiritually challenging meditation on Christian discipleship titled “My Heart – Christ’s Home.” In it, he walks through nine rooms of your life with the Lord, providing an opportunity to examine how each different aspect of your life can be brought more in tune with your Savior. As you welcome Him into your whole heart, closing nothing off from Him, your life becomes God’s natural habitat. Are you creating that environment for Him today? Begin with praise and prayer!
